Inspirational Women of Our Past Exhibition
Presented by the WA Women’s Hall of Fame, this exhibition celebrates, and acknowledges some of the ‘inspiring’ women who have been a part of building this great State.
From the traditional custodians of this land for tens of thousands of years, to pioneer women who made this country their new home, their stories are all remarkable and are an important part of the historical fabric of Perth, and this State.
From freedom fighter Fanny Balbuk Yooreel, Lady Margaret Forrest, Lady Madeline Onslow, and Nurse Alice Stockley who was the founder of Swan Maternity Hospital in West Perth, this exhibition is an insightful look at life for the women who came before us.
The WA Women’s Hall of Fame was launched in 2011 to celebrate the Centenary of International Women’s Day and since that time, an annual ceremony has been held to honour Western Australian women.
