Heritage Perth Weekend on the Northbridge Piazza Superscreen

The Northbridge Piazza Superscreen presents a weekend-long program of fascinating digital exhibitions exploring the heritage of Perth and Western Australia.
The program includes Postcards of WA: Glimpses of the Past, Lasting Impressions: Love, Family and the White Australia Policy and Northbridge: Then and Now.
Postcards of WA: Glimpses of the Past
This exhibition explores Western Australia’s past through vintage images and postcards. While some of the gracious buildings remain the same, the wide dusty main streets of the country towns rendered in soft Photochrom colours show us just how much has changed in the last 100 years. This collection of images showing places from Albany to Geraldton to Wagin to Perth, offers fascinating glimpses of life in Western Australia in the first half of the 20th century.
Lasting Impressions: Love, Family and the White Australia Policy
Digital presentation of the exhibition by the National Archives of Australia
Thousands of non-British residents lived through the White Australia Policy in the early 20th century. People from China, Japan, India, the Philippines and many other countries made their homes in Western Australia, despite policies and practices that targeted them as undesirable migrants.
Discover their stories in this exhibition. See the faces of individuals and families who lived, loved and made homes in Australia – and left a lasting impression on their communities and in the archives.
Northbridge: Then and Now
A collection of pictures of Northbridge, dating back from the late 1800’s until now, documenting the radical change that our city has undergone.
