Government House Open Day
Government House Open Day offers a vibrant mix of live music including the Murphy Brothers Band, family-friendly activities and behind-the-scenes access to a historic residence not usually open to the public.
With free-entry and something for all ages, it’s a unique chance to experience history, culture and community spirit in the heart of the city.
Government House Open Day
The gates of Government House will open for a special, one-day-only, free community Open Day on Sunday 12 April 2026, with visitors invited to explore one of Western Australia’s most significant heritage sites.
Guests can wander through the historic House and gardens, enjoy live entertainment including The Murphy Brothers Band, and experience a range of family-friendly activities and displays throughout the day.
They can expect a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with opportunities to learn more about the role of the Governor and the history of the House, while enjoying family-friendly activations and entertainment across the grounds.
Government House is accessible, with wheelchair access available across the site. ACROD parking bays are located nearby, and staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist visitors where required to ensure an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all.
