From Starch to Scrubs - stories of Royal Perth Hospital told through nurses' uniforms

From Starch to Scrubs - stories of Royal Perth Hospital told through nurses' uniforms

Explore nursing uniforms from over 120 years ago to today.

From puffed sleeves, starched veils and stiff collars, to fun scrubs, see how healthcare has changed over the last century. Learn about the nurses who wore these uniforms, including brave Agnes Seymour who nursed smallpox patients while a patient herself, Robin Miller - the Sugarbird Lady, and Nurse Betty Kelly, the first civilian to receive penicillin. Our volunteers will dust off their nursing uniforms and share with you stories from their days as live-in nurses at RPH.
