Exploring Our State’s Heritage: Inside and Out at Your Parliament House
Discover the heritage of Parliament House both inside and out. In this family friendly event, you can unlock the history and beauty of this iconic ‘House on the Hill’. Join a free tour of Parliament House and discover the immense statewide resources that led to its creation and join the family treasure hunt throughout the gardens.
In the centenary year of Edith Cowan’s election, learn about the first woman member of an Australian Parliament and her lasting social legacy, and about the many other members who have led the way in representing their community.
Visit the Parliamentary Chambers, marvel at the old world charm of the Parliamentary Library and view the magnificent architecture and artefacts. Discover ornate leadlight windows, jarrah from the south west, masonry quarried from Rottnest Island and extensive Indigenous artworks from throughout WA.
Parliament House comes alive both inside and out on Friday, 16 April.
Parliament House grounds and activities will be open from 9am to 4pm.
Guided tours will run each hour from 9am, and bookings are essential.
