The Head On Photo Festival is coming to Perth for the first time, transforming city streets and public spaces with world-class photography beyond traditional gallery walls.

Whether you are a working photographer, an emerging creative, or simply looking for something inspiring to experience, this is your chance to see powerful images that challenge, entertain and connect us.

Celebrating the creativity of hundreds of artists in an accessible, inclusive and immersive environment, the City of Perth Forrest Chase Digital Screen and City of Perth Northbridge Piazza Digital Screen will feature works from the festival 31 January through 1 March 2026.

About the Festival
Head On Foundation is Australia's premier non-profit organisation for photography, producing the esteemed annual Head On Photo Festival in Sydney and a year-round program of events and collaborative projects.

In 2026, the festival will head to Perth with exhibitions, displays, and talks. Capturing the spirit of the West, Head On will launch the inaugural WA LIFE PHOTO AWARDS, with winners announced on Saturday, 31 January 2026, at the launch of Head On Photo Festival Perth, Northbridge Piazza, 6–8pm.

The City of Perth Northbridge Piazza Digital Screen host a variety of programs in Northbridge, from formal feature film screenings with beanbag seating to casual sporting events and exhibitions (such as this screening). Here, visitors can relax on the lawn, savour the renowned culinary delights of Northbridge, or enjoy a stroll along James Street, taking in the vibrant artwork.
