Conservators at Large: Preserving cultural material in unexpected contexts

Join us for the first talk in the Heritage Skills Association Winter Warmer Talk Series.

This series showcases local heritage professionals, shines a spotlight on Western Australian heritage, and provides a meeting opportunity for all those interested in heritage work.

As a conservator who has forged a path outside traditional museums, libraries, and galleries, Claire will discuss her views on what defines cultural material in diverse contexts, and share details of some career-defining projects.

About the speaker

Claire Rowson is a cultural materials conservator who has worked in roles across the cultural sector, within state institutions, government agencies, and private practice. She specialises in the conservation of metals, with a focus on public art, the built environment, and industrial heritage.

This event series is run in partnership with the Heritage Skills Association endorsed by Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage, and the Heritage Council.
