Audible Edge Night School: Bank
The Audible Edge Night School is a series of workshops and critical conversations in the lead-up to the Audible Edge festival.
The Night School is about the capacity of our local arts scene: to write our own stories, build our own platforms, grow safer cultures, and to play and listen better.
Bank is the the third session of the Night School presented in partnership with The Blue Room Theatre and Strut Dance. It features an experimental discussion about money in the arts: how to get it, how to talk about it, and whether we need it at all. A session lead by the DLGSCI will discuss the arts funding process and how to assemble a strong application. Bridget Chappell will lead a thought experiment, "Defund the arts?", discussing whether what we need is more money, or rather more solidarity and more guts.
Accessibility
The Blue Room Theatre is a wheelchair accessible space. The workshops are held in the upstairs theatre, which is accessible via lift. Accessible, all-gender bathrooms are located on the ground floor. The theatre will be warmly lit and spacious. The theatre may be air conditioned, and doors can be left open for improved ventilation, but the room has no windows. Chairs will be provided for seating. We will set up a quiet table in the bar space outside the theatre (the bar will not be in operation).
The workshop can be attended online: a video call link will be sent prior to the workshop to those who have registered.
Specific content warnings and accessibility information are available on the event pages for each show on our website.
The Audible Edge Festival has a dedicated accessibility budget. Please be in touch if you'd like to use this to help experience this event fully.
