A Vintage Fleet Turnout
Historic Fire Engines Return to the Old Perth Central Fire Station
It just wouldn’t be a fire station without fire engines!
DFES is the custodians of the Vintage Fleet - an assortment of historic and decommissioned fire appliances representing 100 years of the Fire and Rescue Service of Western Australia. The Fleet includes a 1921 Dennis Light Pumper, in service 1923 to 1969, to the more unusual such as the 1975 Ford Emergency Tender.
The Fleet is maintained by a dedicated team of restoration volunteers. This is your chance to meet them, ask them questions, as they showcase a selection of appliances including everyone’s favourite - Motor 28, a 1956 Dennis Heavy Pumper.
For children, they can dress up in a firefighter uniform and sit at the wheel of a fire appliance, plus there will be rides around the block on an original 1960s Bedford fire appliance!
Whilst here wander through the heritage listed Perth Central Fire Station and explore its history.
