A Recipe for Life: The Food That Shaped Us

What can food tell us about who we are as Western Australians?

A Recipe for Life: The Food That Shapes Us presents stories and items from the State Library collection including historic cookbooks, menus from memorable restaurants and occasions, archival photography and advertising from iconic WA brands and eateries. The exhibition charts the changing tastes of Western Australians through the State Library’s extensive collections of historical material and more contemporary stories.

Enjoy interactive elements and a new video oral history series with personal stories and memories from WA food and hospitality identities Anna Gare, Blaze Young, Dale Tilbrook, George Kailis, Marco D’Orsogna and Russell Blaikie. Take a seat at the table of Western Australia’s food heritage.
