Timeless Yearnings by Jodee Knowles
This is the first body of work that Jodee has put out in an exhibition using pastels.
After 12 years of working with pen, Jodee Knowles extends an invitation to view her first exhibition of paintings made with pastels, the beginning of her next major art period.
Showing at 577 Wellington Street in Perth CBD, Western Australia, 'Timeless Yearnings' is an exploration of isolation and disconnection, longing for self-understanding, for self and others in a world that is seemingly doing the same.
"This show represents the disconnection I have felt for a while now within the human connection. Since the world has changed, it makes sense even more as to why I was pursuing the ideas of isolation and disconnection.
These artworks represent the longing for self-understanding, for self and others in a world that is seemingly doing the same.
We are all connected, and this is my gift and representation of my inner self and its vibrations on visually displaying the feelings we all share. It is important to also note that this is my first body of work with pastels, and the beginning of a love affair with this medium. I spent 12 years working with pen, so these works are the introduction into my next major art period."
