Little Penguins in Perth

Join us to learn more about the ecology, conservation and management of the little penguin in the Perth Metropolitan Region.

Come along and hear about everything you ever wanted to know about this charming little seabird. From its general biology to breeding behaviour, diet, population estimates, threats and the impacts of climate change. And find out why little penguins have a 40% divorce rate!

About Dr Belinda Cannell

Belinda received her PhD from Monash University in 1994, and since then has been studying the ecology of seabirds in Western Australia. She has focused on little penguins across some 15 separate projects in the Perth region, and has radio-tracked, micro-chipped, tagged, caught, counted, sampled and analysed hundreds of individual little penguins.

Dr Belinda Cannell is a member of the Oceans Institute at The University of Western Australia.
