The City of Perth invites you to take a look inside one of Perth's iconic historic buildings on a guided tour of Barracks Arch, located at the top of St Georges Tce in front of Parliament House. It not only represents Perth's convict era but shows how Western Australia slowly came to feel a need to protect its heritage buildings. Perth Town Hall is always a hub of activity over Heritage Perth Weekend. Starting on Friday and on display through till Sunday is the Inspirational Women of Our Past Exhibition. Presented by the WA Women’s Hall of Fame, this exhibition celebrates, and acknowledges some of the ‘inspiring’ women who have been a part of building this great State. From the traditional custodians of this land for tens of thousands of years, to pioneer women who made this country their new home, their stories are all remarkable and are an important part of the historical fabric of Perth, and this State.
Head to the Council House foyer anytime between 10am and 4pm for the Rainbow Timeline of Western Australia Exhibition presented by GALA WA (Gay and Lesbian Archives WA). This is the second iteration of the rainbow timeline and mapping project, documenting the community's decades of activism and support. Connecting through time community and social groups and their histories located within and around Perth Western Australia Noongar Boodja. The work continues to reflect on a shared past to create a timeline and mapping of the extraordinary lineage and range of LGBTIQA+ groups in WA today. This event is on for the whole weekend Friday to Sunday.

In the afternoon at 4pm journey back in time with Two Feet and a Heartbeat on the East Perth Cemeteries Tour as you walk through this tranquil and unique group of cemeteries dating back to the 1830s when Perth was first established. Situated high on a hill above the Swan River, these colonial cemeteries and the people buried here tell the stories of our city and state over its first seventy years.
As your tour winds its way through the cemeteries, you will encounter a variety of graves and headstones marking the burial sites of people laid to rest in these cemeteries from 1830-1899. Find out about the lives of notable members of the Swan River Colony, as well as lesser-known people who lived extraordinary lives under extremely difficult circumstances. There will be tales of murder, migration, adversity and involuntary transportation to what was one of the most remote parts of the world back in the 1800s. Bookings essential.
