Summer is officially here! There’s so much happening in the City so fill your calendar up with an incredible range of events and things to do. We've rounded up the best of the best, so check it out!

City of Light Show presented by Hancock Prospecting

Langley Park | Thursday 26 January

Respect, Reflect, Celebrate this Australia Day with a City of Light Show presented by Hancock Prospecting that includes a drone show and fireworks display after 8pm, along with plenty of family entertainment from 3pm. Find out more here.

Reflect, Respect, Celebrate Australia Day Film Dome

Langley Park | Thursday 26 January

Come down to the Langley Park family zone this Australia Day and visit the Reflect, Respect, Celebrate Film Dome presented by the Australia Day Council. Featuring a number of informative and educational short films on rotation, along with giveaways and other entertainment. Visit here for more information.

Birak Concert

Supreme Court Gardens | Thursday 26 January

Celebrated through a range of music, drone and art, the Birak Concert is Western Australia’s premier celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and is the centrepiece of the City of Perth’s Australia Day program. The concert features a stellar stage program consisting of WA talent, along with several fun activities including a community art canvas, market stalls with beautiful hand-crafted items, food trucks and free face painting! Find out more.

Toy Story in Concert

Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre | Friday 27 January

In celebration of 100 years of Disney, we join Woody, Buzz and the gang on their iconic adventure on the big screen with music performed live by WASO.  Watch all the characters you know and love in high definition while WASO brings life to the nostalgic music live on stage. Buy tickets here. 

Wilfrid Gordan McDonald Partridge  

State Theatre Centre of Western Australia | 24 – 28 January 

Presented by Music Book Stories and State of Play, and supported by the City of Perth and DLGSC, Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge is a captivating musical for children and families, skillfully and faithfully adapted by acclaimed Perth composer Emma Jayakumar, based on the book by Mem Fox and Julie Vivas. Families will enjoy the relaxed setting of this performance space, interacting with the singers and learning a new song. Buy tickets here.

Sunset Sounds

Matilda Bay Reserve & JH Abrahams Reserve | Sunday 29 January

Wrap up your Australia Day weekend with live music from City Limits! A dynamic and full-sounding 5-piece band covering your favourite rock, funk, and pop hits. City Limits delivers an electrifying live performance to delight and keep the good times rolling. More information here.  

RAC Arena  

With international travel back on the cards, some of the world’s biggest music acts are heading back to Perth to play RAC Arena over the next few months.

Optus Stadium  

This world class entertainment facility, right here in Perth, offers spectators a ‘fan-first’ approach in both design and technology. The Stadium hosts AFL, soccer, rugby league and union as well as some of the world’s biggest musicians.

Fringe World Festival | 20 January to 19 February 

Summer 2023 just got a whole lot better with the return of Fringe World Festival! With over 430 shows on offer, the festival will feature big local, national and international artists as well as some funky new hubs. Jurassic World by Brickman | Now to 5 February  

Get ready for an immersive adventure like no other as Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught re-imagines Jurassic World, the blockbuster franchise from Universal Studios and Amblin Entertainment, in the largest LEGO brick exhibition in Australia. 

Featuring large-scale dinosaurs, props, scenes and activities made from over 6 million LEGO bricks, Plus the newest Jurassic World Brickman dinosaur, weighing in at 400 kilograms. Find out more.

Twilight Hawkers Market | Now until Friday 31 March  

The City’s biggest street food market has returned for another season!  

Running over summer every Friday night from 4:30pm until 9:30pm, Twilight Hawkers Markets showcases a variety of cuisines from around the globe, plus live entertainment. It’s the perfect spot for a bite to eat after work or just a great night out. Check it out here. 

Rooftop Movies | Now until Sunday 2 April 2023  

Everyone’s favourite rooftop cinema is back for another summer of blockbuster flicks and throwback favourites. Set six floors up above the hustle and bustle of Northbridge, this popular pop-up movie destination is home to spectacular city sunset views, retro caravans, comfy bean bangs and palm trees high in the sky.
