Looking for a refreshing brekkie on a warm Perth day? This vegan acai smoothie bowl from Eat Drink Raw is just the thing. It’s made with organic almond milk, organic acai powder, banana and blueberries and is one of a number of vegan options on their menu.
What’s more, these guys take their plant-based, wholefoods café philosophy all the way through to their packaging, using only Biopak takeaway materials that are plastic-free and biodegradable
NOURISH BOWL| DUOTONE
Downside: you will have to wait until 11:30 for this one to be available on the menu, upside: it’s a delicious fusion of wholesome, hearty flavours that are most definitely worth the wait. This bowl of goodness includes house-made hummus, a quinoa lentil salad, avocado, paprika spiced sweet potato, roasted tomato, a balsamic vinaigrette and their house-made seed mix. For dessert, try a house made vegan cookie, vegan raspberry ball, vegan raw chocolate smoothie or an almond-milk-soaked chia pudding.
EVERYTHING | FLORA AND FAUNA
Panache is a one-stop-shop for grab-n-go healthy bites. Their vegan bircher muesli is a must-do and, if you’re in more of a savoury mood, they’ve also got their super food salad box (which changes daily) and their vegan falafel wrap. They’re open Monday to Friday and a popular haunt amongst the corporate crowd.
SMASHED AVOCADO | THE WOLF ESPRESSO
Need a tasty, nutritious smashed avo to “wolf” down between meetings? Enter, The Wolf Espresso. Their smashed avocado is served atop a slice of seeded superfood bread that is vegan, paleo, and free from grains, gluten, dairy, eggs and sugar. It’s filling, got a heap of good stuff in it (hello sunflower seeds, Kalamata olives and chia seeds) and the perfect fit for a range of dietary requirements.
WATERMELON SALAD | SMALL PRINT
It’s always such a thrill to see watermelon on a brekkie menu. Not only does it look beautiful, but it can go surprisingly well with so many flavours, often offsetting the heaviness of other ingredients. Small Print’s watermelon and strawberry salad with sliced scorched almonds, labne and rosewater can be made vegan on request (using coconut cream), and is the perfect light n bright brekkie to kick off your day in the city.
CRUSHED AVOCADO ON TOAST | PERTH CITY FARM CAFE
Perth City Farm is a lush oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of the CBD. It’s an urban farm, event space, weekly farmers market and place to reconnect with nature. While they don’t have a huge vegan offering, their crushed avocado on toast (without feta) is vegan, and the perfect accompaniment to a lazy morning amongst the greenery.
