We’re a few weeks into the school holidays, and you might be rapidly running out of ways to keep the kids entertained. To help you plan stress‑free days out (and beat the “I’m bored!” allegations), we’ve rounded up the very best school holiday activities around Perth, from hidden gems to crowd favourites the whole family will love.

Summer Series

Wednesday - Sunday until 22 February | Elizabeth Quay

Soak up the balmy summer nights at Summer Series! Five nights a week the Quay comes alive with a floating stage of free entertainment, including movie screenings, K-pop dance nights, live music, DJ sets and more.

Inspire your mini artist with a day out at the Art Gallery of WA. AGWA’s school holiday program, PLAY DATES, is the perfect way to connect with art, spend time together, and see the gallery from a whole new perspective. From creative workshops and drawing to family guided tours, it’s the perfect way to spark creativity this summer.

Supreme Court Nights

Daily until 18 January | Supreme Court Gardens

Perth’s newest summer attraction is here - a vibrant, open-air festival lighting up Supreme Court Gardens and transforming it into a buzzing carnival playground. Running nightly from 5pm until late, this epic summer celebration brings together thrilling amusement rides, classic sideshow games, delicious food trucks, live entertainment and dazzling light displays for the perfect night out.

Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor

Every Sunday until 22 February | WA Museum Boola Bardip

Unearth something special on Sundays with mooncakes, warrior-worthy workshops, and hands-on fun inspired by the Western Australian Museum's latest exhibition, Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor. Whether your little warriors want to paint, play or perform, there's something for every age to discover.

Bubble Show in Space

17 January – 8 February | Perth Town Hall

Embark on a soap-tastic adventure to the intergalactic wonder that is bubbles in space! This multiple award-winning Fringe show features literally millions of bubbles – what more could a kid want?

HoopsFest

15 – 18 January | Across the City

Australasia’s biggest basketball, culture and lifestyle festival is coming to Perth this month. The multi-day extravaganza promises to be an unforgettable festival, featuring 10 NBL teams competing in an electrifying round of the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season, four WNBL games, the open age HoopsFest Cup and stacks more. Make sure you head to Forrest Place to check out the four-day fan zone, complete with player appearances, live DJs, activities for the little ones, giveaways and games to keep the fun going all weekend long!

Dinos Alive

Wednesday – Monday until 1 February | Northbridge Centre

This interactive adventure invites families to step back in time and come face to face with more than 80 life-sized dinosaur replicas! With the chance to interact with Jurassic sea giants in a unique virtual aquarium and immerse yourself in the past with a captivating VR experience, it’s guaranteed to be a day out for the books.

Pokemon and Pizza Day

17 January | Nostalgia Box

Australia’s first and only interactive video game console museum is hosting their beloved Pokemon and Pizza Day again this month, complete with tonnes of Pokemon-themed games, activities, crafts and, of course, pizza.

Become a coin designer!

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until 30 January | The Perth Mint

For something really out of the box, let your little one become a coin designer for a day at the Perth Mint this summer! This workshop will explore creative thinking and technical skills as they learn to utilise scale and shape to design their very own coin.

Dance Camp

12 – 16 January | King Street Arts Centre

Co3 Contemporary Dance Australia invites emerging dancers of all ages to join their 2026 School Holiday Dance Camp Intensives. Led by their exceptional Teaching Artists and Company Dancers, these camps offer young dancers the chance to build their skills, explore Co3’s unique methodologies, and connect with peers in a vibrant studio environment at the King Street Arts Centre.

Summer of Adventure at Scitech

Summer Reading Challenge

Daily until 28 January

Get your kids kick-started on their reading journey at the City of Perth Library! Pick up a Summer Reading Challenge card from any of our service desks to get started. Children aged 2 to 12 can collect a small progress prize for each challenge they complete.

Mermaid Storytime

22 January

Have your kids been dreaming of meeting a real-life mermaid? That dream can become a reality this summer at the Library. Mermaid Melody will be reading and signing her debut children's picture book The Mermaid and the Cat, and there’ll be time to get a photo with Melody after the stories. Suitable for ages 2 to 8

LEGO and DUPLO Free Play

13 and 27 January

Having fun while developing problem solving and fine motor skills? The ultimate win-win. Kids can either create their own masterpieces or try one of the Library’s challenges. Suitable for ages 2-11.

Ocean Wanderers

29 January

Let your little ones explore the dynamic world of life under the waves. They’ll learn about the biology of some of their favourite marine creatures and ways they can help our marine creatures in their everyday life. Best for ages 4-11.
