Free Yoga is popping up all over Perth! I regularly check the Visit Perth website and follow City of Perth on Facebook and Instagram to keep me connected and discover the best (and hidden) things around me.

I rolled out my mat for Yoga on the Lawn at Cathedral Square just by the State Buildings where there was just the right amount of shade at that time of the day. As I downdogged, twisted and got into my warriors, I felt so much awe with the beauty of the city. Upside down I could feel the history of the Perth CBD – COMO The Treasury holds the reputation of being Perth’s most luxury hotel and spa with all delectable fine restaurants and bars. My twists turned me towards the City of Perth Library on my left and the St George’s Cathedral on my right. When I looked above, the beautiful blue skies watching over me. It really made me remember how beautiful Perth is, and more than anything, appreciate my yoga practice for taking me this far.

Yoga sessions running at Cathedral Square below:

Wednesday 20 February – 7:00am
Saturday 23 February – 8:30am
Wednesday 27 February – 7:00am

What’s more, there are free yoga classes to choose from at Northbridge Piazza, every Saturday until 2 March 2019 at 8am.

You’ll be so ready to zen, because yoga mats are always provided. No shoes or socks required for yoga, so just bring yourself and be in clothing you can comfortably move in. In your active-wear (or not).

For some more options, come along to the Bodyscape Yoga SUP (stand-up paddle board) event on 10th March 2019. It’ll be in another iconic location of Perth, set on the Swan River at the Matilda Bay Foreshore. You don’t have to have any previous yoga or paddle board experience. Come as you are. Register on www.bodyscapeyoga.com.au/events.

Want to know how to get more zen?
1. Schedule in your yoga and commit to it! Eg. Start with even once a week!
2. Get outdoors and tune into the sounds around you (whether it’s a bird chirping or the sound of traffic/chatter)
3. Take deep full breaths anywhere, anytime and everywhere
4. Practice positivity because the world needs more of it!
