Below are a few of my personal favs that I’ve had the pleasure of seeing perform and whom I can’t wait to see once more when this all passes.
Seeing Carla Geneve perform is like getting a gut punch to your emotions. One of the most exciting songwriters in Western Australia, she was slated for a North American tour which would’ve also included an appearance at this year’s SXSW Festival. So give all your love to this talented lady by visiting her Bandcamp page where you can purchase a bevvy of merch including her EP Change which won a swag of WAM Awards last year.

Having taken a break from music she recently released a new track Burj Khalifa and has a new record in the pipeline to be released this year. Since 2014 SLUMBERJACK have been etching out a name for themselves as one of Australia’s best electronic music duos. Morgan Then and Fletcher Ehlers had been splitting their time between Perth and LA producing the banging and gritty EP Black & Blue followed with an accompanying national tour up until only a few weeks ago. The duo are featuring at the rescheduled Castaway festival (5th December 2020) but in the meantime, SLUMBERJACK offers some very stylin’ fashion via their Facebook account.

The musical pairing of Dylan Ollivierre and Carmon Pepper form the WA band, The Money War. These guys have supported some big-hitters from Spiderbait to Alex Lahey, Holy Holy and The Lumineers and they get better each time I see them. In these stressful times, their fuzzy dream-pop is exactly what you need to escape the confines of your isolation. They have a number of merch options including a limited edition 12” vinyl on Bandcamp. So if you haven’t already, check them out.
