Don’t miss the daily Lion Dancer performances taking place at Murray Street Mall from midday every weekday from 29 January to 12 February. Red lanterns will also adorn city malls and the streets of Northbridge throughout the month.

Welcome the Year of the Snake with vibrant celebrations, traditional red envelope giveaways and cultural performances from 29 January to 2 February 2025. From 6pm each evening, traditional lion and dragon dances will fill the air with excitement, creating the perfect atmosphere to explore the many dining options at Elizabeth Quay.
On 1 February, Lunar New Year will come to life at Elizabeth Quay with vibrant celebrations, delicious food and traditional performances. Wander through more than 60 market stalls offering everything from unique handmade treasures and one-of-a-kind finds to mouth-watering street eats and seasonal delights. It’s the perfect spot to soak up the lively atmosphere along the beautiful Derbal Yerrigan. From 6pm, enjoy traditional performances that bring the energy of Lunar New Year to Elizabeth Quay. Northbridge Piazza
The Perth Chinese New Year Fair is back this Sunday 2 February, promising a captivating array of cultural experiences and festivities. Attendees can immerse themselves in traditional arts and crafts, and see colourful cultural performances, including the highly anticipated lion and dragon dances. James Street in Northbridge will be closed to traffic and will be filled will food and craft stalls. The Northbridge Piazza stage will showcase Chinese cultural performances throughout the event.
London Court
Celebrate new beginnings at London Court this Lunar New year, with lion dances, musical performances, face painting and lantern making and calligraphy workshops. Celebrations will be running from 30 January to 6 February – don’t forget to look up while you’re walking through to see the stunning red lanterns adorning London Court!
Raine Square
This year brings wisdom, charm, elegance, and transformation, and Raine Square wants to help you harness and celebrate, empowering your lucky stars this Lunar New Year! There’ll be heaps of prizes up for grabs, lion dances, a Lunar New Year fashion display and summer stories from local WA writers.

In celebration of the Year of the Snake, KARLA’s kitchen team will fire up the flames + coals to present a limited-edition menu inspired by the vibrant traditions of Lunar New Year. Each dish will be infused with our signature mix of heat, spice, and creativity, reflecting an elegance and resourcefulness synonymous with the snake.
