Take the kids on a trip along the Swan River aboard The Little Ferry Co these school holidays. See our city from the water on WA’s only solar electric ferry. This ride doubles as a guided tour, so both the little ones as well as the adults will be able to learn something new about our unique city. This service starts at Elizabeth Quay all the way into Claisebrook, while stopping at On the Point and Optus Stadium along the way.
Coast under Trafalgar Bridge and make your way into Claisebrook Cove, where you can disembark from the ferry and wander through Victoria Gardens. It’s the perfect place for a family picnic or to let the kids burn some energy and run around. This area features many artworks that celebrate the Indigenous history and culture of the area. You’ll also find an uninterrupted view of Optus Stadium and Matagarup Bridge just across the water!
Once the kids have burned off all that energy, you can always count of Toast Café for some respite and a nice cuppa. Their extensive menu features an all-day brekkie (did someone say pancakes for lunch?) as well as some great lunch options that are all bound to tickle the kids’ fancy – and yours! This venue has a stunning view of the cove and with five different versions of the eggs benedict to choose from, you know it’s the place to be.
When you’ve finished exploring Claisebrook Cove with the kids, hop back on the Little Ferry Co and arrive back into Elizabeth Quay in style. If your kids aren’t tuckered out from all that adventure, check out our Elizabeth Quay school holiday itinerary!
