Clink glasses with mum and have a couple of bevvies at some of the best venues in the city (some of them offering bottomless options - win!). The Globe will have a Mother’s Day Prosecco Brunch so you and mum can let loose for the day with a range of free-flowing drinks for two hours. Choose from sparkling, house wines, selected beers as well as a mimosa and bellini station to enhance your sparkling. You’ll also be able to grab yourself a brunch item and a special dessert to go along with it. There are two different sitting times to choose from: 10.30am – 12.30pm or 2.00pm – 4.00pm. If you're after more of a rooftop, oasis type of vibe then look no further than Hadiqa for their Mother's Day High Tea on the Rooftop. This one is on the Saturday 7 May, 11am - 3.30pm.
Get a little bit fancy with mum and make your way to the C Restaurant for an incredibly decadent 3-course lunch or dinner. Pair this with the spectacular, rotating views of the Swan River and entire city and you’ve found yourself the perfect gift to give them. Bookings are only available for Sunday 8 May, so get to it.
The range of cocktails to choose from at Hunter & Barrel are a sight to see. All of their cocktails are inspired by age-old craftsmanship and feature barrel-aged cocktails such as an Aged Piña or Hunters Mojito. If you're acting as designated driver, no worries, they've crafted up some options to make you feel included, it's mum's day after all.
If mum and yourself are big fans of yum-cha, luckily, Market Grounds have combined Mother's Day with exactly that. Enjoy a perfect combination of cocktails and yum-cha in a 2-hour session that includes a cocktail on arrival and 9 shared yum-cha plates to devour. It's on for one day only, this is something you won't want to miss out on. Check out the details and menu here.
Netball season is making a return and a home-game for West Coast Fever at RAC Arena falls perfectly on Mother's Day. Grab yourself and mum tickets to see the West Coast Fever and Collingwood Magpies go head to head on Sunday 8 May. For more information, click here.
If the theatre is more their preference, we recommend heading to His Majesty's Theatre and seeing ALICE. Watch a stunning performance that combines ballet, theatre and puppetry that retells as Alice takes another crazy tumble down the rabbit hole. Grab tickets here.
It only makes sense to buy something sweet for someone equally as sweet. There is guaranteed to be something to satisfy that sweet tooth in the city on Mother's Day. A visit to Honeycake is almost standard when it comes to visiting the city. Fear not, although they've moved, they've opened up an even bigger shop in Northbridge that is still serving delicious slices and slabs of Honeycake.
Venture a little bit further into Northbridge and you'll find Mimochi. These mochi doughnuts are crunchy, chewy and topped with icing sugar or different flavours of icing that change every week. We recommend giving black sesame a go if you're lucky enough to visit when it's available. Grab whatever goods you need and head over to Kings Park for a picnic with a view of the city skyline.
