Welcome to some of Perth’s best bars whether you’re a cocktail, rum, tequila or whiskey drinker or want a Speakeasy, whiskey-den or vintage cocktail bar vibe.

Caballito is the Spanish word for little horse or hobby horse and Caballitos is a tequila bar on Queen Street that rocks just as much as its name. Starting August 13, its Nacho Typical Thursdays will include not just tequila tasting, pole dancing and pinata parties but every other month you can also get a free tattoo with a minimum $50 spend.

The Best Brew

The Best Brew is brilliantly located for pre-concert ‘drinkkies’ because it’s opposite the RAC Arena in Wellington Street and a standout with its arty alfresco area outside and great customer service inside.  The focus here is on beer, with a big variety of local and international ales, beer towers to serve your table of friends and Happy Hour $5 schooners between 5pm and 6pm daily.   The kitchen cooks all the favourites you’d expect of a beer bar with pizzas, steak sandwiches and that ooey-gooey  favourite; BBQ roasted sticky lamb ribs

Sneaky Tony’s

No password, no entry. That’s right; Friday and Saturday nights, if you don’t know the password (try the Facebook page) you could miss out on this moody rum bar on Chinatown’s Roe Street, named after notorious Californian rum runner Tony ‘The Hat’ Cornero. Adding to the sneaky, Speakeasy vibe, this rum den doesn’t even have a sign on the door. But plenty of people still track Sneaky Tony’s down, and regulars gush that this place has all the good rum and a very tasty selection of cocktails too.

Bar Lafayette

This is the Perth bar where the bar tenders shine bright, even named WA’s best cocktail bar by Bartender Magazine, and widely applauded for its Spiced Swizzles, Espresso Martinis, and a whiskey selection second to none. Throw in live music, the intimate basement locale created in Perth’s Old Technical School building and classic vintage cocktail bar décor complete with big embracing Chesterfields, perfect for cosy conversations, and you are set for very chilled, very classy evening at Brookfield Place’s Bar Lafayette.

Goody Two’s

From Life Drawing catch-ups to Sumo Wrestling – welcome to Good Two’s, another fun venue created by Sneakers and Jeans, the creative brains behind some of Perth’s most original venues. What sets Goodie Two’s apart is its cheeky Japanese influence recreating its after-work skewers and whisky culture. Wear your dancing shoes to Goodie Two’s because you won’t resist its uber-cool Neosoul tunes. Perth is Okay rates its Make it Pop cocktail one of the best 20 in Perth with its edible bubble filled with rosemary vapour.

There is nothing tiny about this venue’s Liquor Emporium which boasts more than 300 wines. It also has a range of small batch wines on the drinks’ menu alongside cool craft beer and scrumptious seasonal cocktails. There’s no doubt that Tiny’s attracts a big after work crowd and those that linger longer are rewarded with meals to rave about like the much revered, venue signature dish roast chicken.  Tiny’s is in the QV1 building at 250 St Georges Terrace and it pays to keep on eye out for its special events like guest chef nights and special wine dinners.
