Prepare to be transported somewhere truly beautiful… Hadiqa is a Middle Eastern-inspired oasis nestled in the newly developed Hibernian Place. Inspired by ‘hadiqa’; the Arabic word for ‘garden’, this stunning rooftop bar and restaurant offers an escape from the concrete jungle that surrounds it in the heart of Perth’s CBD. Bringing a touch of spice, Hadiqa delivers a signature share-friendly menu fused with Moroccan, Mediterranean and Greek flavours – which can be enjoyed with a selection of bespoke cocktails, unique craft beers and thoughtful wine offering. Sneaky Tony’s

No password, no entry. That’s right; Friday and Saturday nights, if you don’t know the password (try the Facebook page) you could miss out on this moody rum bar on Chinatown’s Roe Street, named after notorious Californian rum runner Tony ‘The Hat’ Cornero. Adding to the sneaky, Speakeasy vibe, this rum den doesn’t even have a sign on the door. But plenty of people still track Sneaky Tony’s down, and regulars gush that this place has all the good rum and a very tasty selection of cocktails too.

Varnish on King

Tucked in the basement of a heritage building right in the heart of Perth’s CBD, is Varnish on King - paying homage to American Whiskey and home to Perth’s most extensive showcase of bourbons, ryes, Canadian and Tennessee whiskey. The venue’s interior pays its respect to the nouveau dive bars of the States, but throws a sly nod to Perth’s own history with sepia-toned images of the neighbourhood’s yesteryear lining the walls. Varnish on King doesn’t play by the rules, offering a number of innovative perks for their customers, such as the ‘Bacon & Whiskey flight’ where four different styles of Whiskey are paired up to four different style of bacon… yep – it’s a thing! The venue also boasts 100-odd wines on their wine list, a list that is largely instinctive and changes frequently on a whim, as does their menu which is an innovative, eclectic fusion of American classics with an Aussie twist!

Bar Lafayette

This is the Perth bar where the bar tenders shine bright, even named WA’s best cocktail bar by Bartender Magazine, and widely applauded for its Spiced Swizzles, Espresso Martinis, and a whiskey selection second to none. Throw in live music, the intimate basement locale created in Perth’s Old Technical School building and classic vintage cocktail bar décor complete with big embracing Chesterfields, perfect for cosy conversations, and you are set for very chilled, very classy evening at Brookfield Place’s Bar Lafayette.

Goody Two’s

What sets Goodie Two’s apart is its cheeky Japanese influence recreating its after-work skewers and whisky culture. Wear your dancing shoes to Goodie Two’s because you won’t resist its uber-cool Neosoul tunes. Perth is Okay rates its Make it Pop cocktail one of the best 20 in Perth with its edible bubble filled with rosemary vapour.

There is nothing tiny about this venue’s Liquor Emporium which boasts more than 300 wines. It also has a range of small batch wines on the drinks’ menu alongside cool craft beer and scrumptious seasonal cocktails. There’s no doubt that Tiny’s attracts a big after work crowd and those that linger longer are rewarded with meals to rave about like the much revered, venue signature dish roast chicken.  Tiny’s is in the QV1 building at 250 St Georges Terrace and it pays to keep on eye out for its special events like guest chef nights and special wine dinners.
